the NATIONAL POETRY QUARTERLY 

is just for you, the American High School Poet and the American High School Poetry Teacher.

Every three months we will bring the finest in high school poetry straight to your school and into your classroom.

The wellspring of creativity, the raw passion, the unique point of view, which only occurs when the teen poet puts pen to paper.

This is where every poet came from, where every poet found their voice, where every poet first exposed that twitching nerve to the world, and where every poet will return again and again.

DO THE MATH

unprocessed, unstoppable,  unafraid

unrefined,  unexplainable, unleashed

unknown,  uncontrollable,  unbridled

undefined,  unbelievable, unrelenting

but never inconsequential.

Our goal is to share that passion, that fire, that explosive energy, that bare nerve exposed to the world. Our dream is that those who are living it now and those who have gone before will find common ground, and that all will walk away enriched, enlightened, and empowered.

The inaugural edition of JUST POETRY!!! in the spring of 2009 featured all of the Easterday Poetry Award Winners and First Place Winners from the first ten years of the National High School Poetry Contest. Some selected Second Place Winners also were included. In essence it turned out to be, a "Best of" Edition for the first ten years of the National High School Poetry Contest.
